About Me
My name is Tim Walker. I'm currently a third year student at MSOE with interests in software development, web developement, and computer security. Education
I am currently in my Junior year of the Software Engineering program at The Milwaukee School of Engineering. I am currently undecided as to what I will choose as my application domain, but I am interested in network based computing, as well as cryptology.
Previous to college, I was a student at South Milwaukee High School. During my time there, I was an honors student, and a member of the school's wrestling team.
Experience
During the latter half of my highschool experience, I participated in a work-study program at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance. I worked as an Application Design and Support Intern. The bulk of my duties were comprised of managing employee resource information, and writing scripts to help sort information used by my development group. Among other things, my secondary duties involved the documentation of existing systems, and some network permissions oversight.
When I entered MSOE, I left Northwestern as there were no available positions that I was able to adapt my school schedule to. While a great deal of my time is now dedicated to school responsibilities, I am pursuing a knowledge of C# and Javascript on my own time. In addition to these new languages, I am also working on expanding my knowledge of SQL. I feel that a career-related internship can help me with these pursuits by providing me with real-world problems to solve.
Interests
When I'm not busy with school work, I enjoy live music, video games, and occassionally something a bit more exotic.
